What is your return policy?

All sales are final for purchases made in store at Exotic Lumber Annapolis or Exotic Lumber Frederick.  For our online store return policy, please visit our Terms and Conditions page.

Shipping and handling?

A.

Shipment rates are determined by package weight, dimensions and destination. Our "Standard Ground" option uses FedEx Ground, and occasionally USPS Priority Mail.  All orders are trackable, and tracking information will be provided to you once an order has shipped.  Orders are typically shipped within 2 business days of being received.  For questions or concerns about shipment of orders, please contact shipping@exoticlumber.com

Do we allow International orders?

A.

Yes, however our online store is only available to customers in the United States.  For international orders, please email orders@exoticlumber.com to inquire directly.  For easy reference, please provide full shipping address and mention SKU(s) associated with online items of interest.  Payment for international orders is facilitated through PayPal.  International customers must have a PayPal account to place an order.

Do we offer volume discounts on orders?

A.

Yes, we offer volume discounts starting at a 100BF minimum up to the truck-load or sea container (i.e. export).  For pricing, please visit our wholesale page to complete an interest form.  We also offer board footage discounts on short length boards of African Mahogany, Hard Maple, Cherry, Walnut, and Red Oak.

Do we buy wood?

A.

In some cases we do purchase wood, however it depends on the grade, species, and whether our buying department is interested.  Typically we are interested in large domestic logs (e.g. Walnut, Cherry, Maple).

Why is our wood waxed?

A.

In order to protect wood while drying, we apply wax to ensure the wood dries properly to avoid checking or warping.

Is our wood kiln-dried?

A.

Most of our inventory is kiln-dried, although in some cases it is air-dried (e.g. imported exotic species).

Is our wood sustainable?

A.

We make every attempt to ensure our lumber is sourced by responsible loggers using sustainable forestry practices.

Do we offer delivery?

A.

Yes, we offer local delivery in the Washington DC & Baltimore Metropolitan area.  Pricing varies depending upon order size and delivery location.  Minimum delivery fee is $50.00.
